Governance design for one of London's first community-owned local energy systems and energy services organisations

Neighbourhood Futures is designing the governance system for one of London’s first community-owned local energy systems and energy services organisations. Designed as a joint public-civic partnership, the first stage of the energy system is based around a local heat network and solar PV installations across the north east of the borough. Working alongside the London Borough of Newham’s climate team, Repowering London, Green SCIES, Community Energy Newham, and PG Collective, the governance design seeks to create a viable alternative ownership model for the roll out of low-carbon energy infrastructure in an urban context.
